Logistics generally means the process of transportation and distribution of goods from the initial production level to the final destination, i.e., consumers.
Freight forwarding is the most significant part of the logistics industry. Currently, over 1,100 BAFFA members facilitate the nation's international trade with global origins and destinations. The Bangladeshi freight forwarding sector is an invisible backbone of the country's economy. Without the freight and logistics sector, the entire supply chain management is simply a car without an engine.
For an emerging economy like that of Bangladesh, exporting manufactured goods to the world and importing a range of commodities from the assorted origins are an essentially vital trade. With the expansion of open-market demands the freight and logistics industry came into being formally during 1991-92 in Bangladesh.
